Buffalo man admits to robbing 3 gas stations, one with an Uzi

A Buffalo man admitted in court that he used a gun to rob three separate gas stations in three towns, over three days in July.

Michael Church, 39, pleaded guilty Friday to three counts of second-degree robbery for the gunpoint robberies.

Church on July 14 held up the clerk at a Mobil gas station on Love Road on Grand Island and stole cash from the register.

The next morning, armed with an Uzi, he robbed a Sunoco station on Union Road in Cheektowaga, taking money and cigarettes.

And on the morning of July 16, he took money and cigarettes from a Sunoco station on Delaware Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda.

State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski scheduled sentencing for Sept. 26.
