It's a rare athlete who's able to play varsity boys basketball as an eighth-grader.
Jalen Bradberry did just that last season with Niagara Wheatfield, but he won't be suiting up for the Falcons as a freshman.
Bradberry will play at Niagara Catholic, the small Catholic school in Niagara Falls that plays in the rugged Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association.
Bradberry averaged 13 points per game last year with Niagara Wheatfield and also was among the team's leaders in assists, rebounds and steals.
"Niagara Wheatfield wishes Jalen the best in the future," Falcons coach Erik O'Bryan said. "He has all the tools if he stays hungry and humble."
Bradberry is the son of former LaSalle star Carlos, the 1993 Allen Wilson Buffalo News Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
