Sabres hold line on individual ticket starting prices, revamp Mini-Packs

The Buffalo Sabres have announced individual-game and Mini-Pack prices for the 2017-18 season, and they feature no increase for the box office starting point and a complete overhaul of the Mini-Pack program.

Single-game tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 16. Tickets for home preseason games, priced at $22-$45, go on sale Aug. 30.

The Sabres will retain the dynamic pricing model and three-tier system they implemented last season for individual games. That means the prices the team is listing is the initial price for games, and can fluctuate based on market conditions. Prices range from $45-$195 for Tier 1 games, $35-$155 for Tier 2 games and $25-$135 for Tier 3 games.

The team has added a price tier called 300 Level V for seats that will be priced as low as $25 for Tier 3 games. Those seats will be the last four rows of the 300 level corners in Sections 301, 302, 311, 315, 324 and 325. There are no season tickets sold in those areas and the new price is a drop of as much as $25 (from $70 to $45 to Tier 1 games) for those seats from last year.

In terms of Mini-Packs, the seats are now going to be priced the same regardless of tiers. This has resulted in completely different pricing on Mini-Packs compared to last season, with most prices for packs in Tiers 1 and 2 decreasing while those in Tier 3 have increased.

However, there are fewer Tier 1 and 2 games this season, and six extra Tier 3 games. So fans can almost certainly make a lower-priced total Mini-Pack than in 2016-17 based on the games they choose.

Just seven games are designated as Tier I, including the Oct. 5 season opener against Montreal. There are 14 Tier II games and 19 Tier III contests. The home schedule in Buffalo this year is 40 games rather than 41 because the Jan. 1 Winter Classic against the New York Rangers will be held at Citi Field in Queens.

Joining the home opener as Tier I games are Nov. 24 vs. Edmonton, Dec. 1 vs. Pittsburgh, Dec. 22 vs. Philadelphia, March 15 vs. Toronto, March 17 vs. Chicago and March 23 against Montreal.

Tier II games are Oct. 20 vs. Vancouver, Oct. 28 vs. San Jose, Nov. 10 vs. Florida, Nov. 18 vs. Carolina, Dec. 15 vs. Carolina, Jan. 20 vs. Dallas, Feb. 3 vs. St. Louis, Feb. 8 vs. New York Islanders, Feb. 17 vs. Los Angeles, Feb. 25 vs. Boston, March 5 vs. Toronto, March 10 vs. Vegas, March 29 vs. Detroit and April 4 vs. Ottawa.
