Friday is the deadline to register to vote in the Sept. 12 primary for state and local offices in New York State.
Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight Friday and received by the Board of Elections no later than Aug. 23 to be valid for the upcoming primary election.
New Yorkers wanting to register in-person may do so at their county Board of Elections and at many state agency offices, but must do so no later than Friday to be eligible to vote Sept. 12.
Those with New York State drivers licenses, permit or non-driver ID card may submit registration information online at the MyDMV site.
Those who are unsure whether they are registered may look up their status at the state Board of Elections website: www.elections.ny.gov.
