An 8-year-old Niagara Falls girl was injured Thursday when a minivan struck her in the 1800 block of Pierce Avenue.
The incident occurred about 1 p.m., according to Niagara Falls p0lice. The girl was crossing Pierce Avenue mid-block when she was hit by westbound 2007 Chrysler minivan that was driven by a 36-year-old Niagara Falls woman.
Police said the girl was treated at the scene by the Niagara Falls Fire Department and American Medical Response Ambulance paramedics before she was transported to Women & Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. She suffered head, rib and knee injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
No charges were filed against the driver Thursday, though police were continuing their investigation into the accident.
