Mark Gaughan's Power Take: Check out the scrubs who have jobs ahead of Colin Kaepernick

Remember when Doug Flutie played for the Bills and we all said: “How on earth did the NFL conclude he wasn't better than some of the 90 quarterbacks in the league the past 10 years?”

There are 118 quarterbacks in NFL camps. How is Colin Kaepernick, who took a talented, well-coached team to the Super Bowl, not better than some of them? Kaepernick has been afforded one stop in his career.

Here are dubious current starters and their number of NFL: stops: Josh McCown (10), Brian Hoyer (7), Brock Osweiler (3), Mike Glennon (2).

Here are just some of the No. 2s and their stops: Ryan Fitzpatrick (7), Kellen Clemens (5), Case Keenum (5), Mark Sanchez (5), Drew Stanton (4), Derek Anderson (4), Scott Tolzein (4), Ryan Mallett (3), Matt Simms (3), Geno Smith (2).

Here are some No. 3s or 4s: Josh Johnson (11), Thad Lewis (9), Luke McCown (7), Dan Orlovsky (6), T.J. Yates (5), Matt Barkley (4), Blaine Gabbert (3), EJ Manuel and Jeff Driskel (2).

Josh McCown, Gabbert, McCoy, Tolzein and Driskel previously served as backups to Kaepernick.

Kaepernick should have a job.
