A vacant home in Amherst is slated for demolition, unless a judge halts it.
The Town Board awarded a $28,000 bid by Regional Environmental Demolition of Niagara Falls to demolish the home at 46 Royal Parkway West.
Just before the vote, Town Attorney Stanley Sliwa told the board his office was expecting a judicial order preventing the demolition.
At a public hearing in April, the town engineer and assessor argued the home is structurally unsound and hasn't been occupied in years.
But attorneys for the bank and owners pleaded with the board to give them at least 30 days to come up with a plan. No plan has materialized, officials said.
The Town Board agreed the demolition would not go ahead until after Sept. 14.
