Two-time former champion Kim Kaul of the Gowanda Country Club finished sixth in the New York State Golf Association Senior Women's Championship which wrapped up Tuesday at the Corning Country Club. Kaul shot 8-over 82 for a 161 total, eight strokes behind the winner, Mary Sicard of the Queensbury CC. Sicard, who was in a group that included Kaul with a first-day round of 79, shot the low round of the day Tuesday, even-par 74 for a 153 total.
Kaul started her round with two birdies on par-5 holes. Her only other birdie didn't come until No. 18, however.
Tammy Blyth (Monroe GC) and Nancy Kroll (Pinehaven) the first-day leaders with 77 finished third and fourth respectively. Blyth shot 79 Tuesday for a 156 total. Kroll had an 80 for 157.
The Super Senior championship went to Sondra Wood of the Cornell University GC with a 79-77-156. Lindley Bowen (Tan Tara) finished 82-88-170 to tie for 10th in the Super Senior Division.
