With 10 home games left on their 2017 slate, the Buffalo Bisons announced Tuesday afternoon their 2018 schedule.
Buffalo opens next season an hour east at Rochester, before debuting at Coca-Cola Field for a 31st season on April 12 against Indianapolis. No game times have been announced.
"It's never easy to say good bye to baseball and all those fun summer nights at the ballpark at the end of one season. But knowing that another amazing year of Bisons baseball at Coca-Cola Field is on the horizon helps all of us stay warm and excited during those cold offseason days," Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manager of the Bisons, said in a release. "With our schedule now in place, our team can get to work planning yet another fun-filled season of great sports and family entertainment at the ballpark."
The Bisons also aligned dates with some of the year's most notable promotional events. May 31 will be School Kid Day against Columbus. June 2 will be Star Wars Night when Buffalo hosts Charlotte. The KeyBank Independence Eve Celebration will take place July 3 against Scranton and Superhero Night will happen Aug. 11 vs. Toledo. The last home game of the 2018 season will be Aug. 27 against Pawtucket, which is Fan Appreciation Night.
The International League will reduce the total number of games from 142 to 140 in 2018, the second straight year the IL has decreased the total number of games.
