Uniland Development Co. can access the site at Amherst's Northtown Center where the company plans to build a hotel while it awaits the final approvals for the project.
The Amherst Town Board agreed to let Uniland and its representatives onto the 3-acre parcel at 1615 Manor Drive to allow for site inspection, surveys, soil samples, physical inspection and an environmental impact study. An amendment requires Uniland to provide the town with results of any testing.
The agreement, which runs through Dec. 31, is the latest sign of activity for the proposed $11 million Hampton by Hilton hotel.
Uniland envisions building a four-story, 105-room hotel and 115 parking spaces. The town Planning Board is taking up a request to rezone the site at its meeting Thursday.
