A tractor-trailer driven by a Georgia man crashed on Interstate 86 in Cattaraugus County early Saturday, causing the right lane of the westbound side of the highway to be closed for several hours until the 18-wheeler could be unloaded and towed away.
The crash was reported at 1:41 a.m. in the Town of Carrollton, about a mile west of Exit 23, which connects the interstate with southbound Route 219.
The tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and overturned, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office reported. The driver was ticketed for driving off the road. Workers from Portville Truck and Auto Repair unloaded the trailer and removed it. The Sheriff's Office was unable to provide information about what was in the truck.
