Thieves might be doing yard work with ill-gotten gains

Two cases of stolen lawnmowers on Saturday show that even thieves have to cut the grass.

A Craftsman mower was stolen from a backyard shed on Niagara Street early Saturday morning, after an unknown person broke the latch on the shed. The perpetrator also took a weed wacker.

Separately, someone entered an unlocked garage on Barthel Street and took a woman's lawnmower in the middle of the afternoon, around 3:30 p.m.

Both burglaries are under investigation by Buffalo police.
