CLEAN HOUSE – State Sen. Tim Kennedy will sponsor a free electronics recycling collection from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in AppleTree Business Park, 2875 Union Road, Cheektowaga, in conjunction with Sunnking and Spectrum.
Accepted will be computers and accessories, small home appliances, TV sets and video players. Unacceptable are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, household hazardous wastes, batteries, light bulbs, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, videotapes and anything containing freon, PCBs, mercury or other liquids. HEADS AND TAILS – Clarence Center United Methodist Church, 9760 Clarence Center Road, Clarence, will hold an animal blessing service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a visit from the Buffalo Zoomobile until 2:30 p.m.
All animals must be on secure leashes or in crates or carriers. A photo of a pet is also acceptable. Donations of pet supplies are welcome to benefit local animal shelters. A hot dog lunch, including chips and water, will be available for $2.

SUMMER FUN – Family activities will be featured as the Town of Amherst Youth and Recreation Department hosts a Summer Blast from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Clearfield Community Center and Pool, 730 Hopkins Road, Amherst.
Attractions will include inflatables, sno-cones, games in the pool, swimming demonstrations, crafts and visits by local firefighters and police officers.

TUNED UP – The award-winning Sanborn Fire Company Band, directed by Wallace R. Goodman and assistant conductor Tammy Rohring, will give a free Concert in the Park at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wilson Historical Society on Lake Street (Route 425), Wilson. Lawn chairs are welcome. In case of rain, the concert will move inside the Historical Society’s Barnum Building.
