Party on the block
The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus was rocking on Wednesday for the first-ever BNMC Summer Block Party sponsored by Roswell Park Cancer Institute, University at Buffalo and Kaleida Health.
The family-friendly activity brought together nearby neighbors, employees who work on the Medical Campus and their families.
There was food, activities for kids, health and wellness information and live performances by the Colored Musicians Club and the Kenny Hawkins All Star Band.
The alcohol-free event was held at Kaminski Park & Gardens on Carlton and Elm streets outside Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Looks like it was a fun time!
Speaking of a fun time
The Jami Masjid Mosque and the Universal School – an Islamic faith-based elementary school – celebrated the grand opening of a new playground on Wednesday.
The new play area is for the entire community to enjoy and is located at Genesee and Forman streets, on a parking lot on the school’s property.
The $80,000 playground was built to give kids and neighbors a safe place to gather and play, organizers said.
Let the fun and games begin!
