Inquiring minds want to know: Where has WGRZ-TV (Channel 2) weatherman Kevin O'Connell been? Has the medical issue that took him off the air for weeks in July returned?
Those who wondered had to be relieved Tuesday when O'Connell came back from a planned vacation. He also is set to work Wednesday and Thursday.
But the question of his whereabouts is bound to return next week because O'Connell is going back on vacation for two weeks after working Thursday. He seems to be on a similar work schedule as his buddy, "Daybreak" co-anchor John Beard.
The weathercaster wanted to protect his privacy and wouldn't say exactly what was ailing him when he was on sick leave, but he did clear up one rumor: He didn't have a heart attack.
Some viewers made that incorrect assumption because in O'Connell's emotional address upon his return in July he thanked his cardiologist among four doctors who were treating him.
"Even though my comments mentioned my cardiologist, there were no heart issues," said O'Connell. "He was part of my medical team. His services were as a monitor, period."
Inquiring minds also want to know: Where has WIVB-TV co-anchor Don Postles been for more than a week? I've been told that he is on a three-week vacation. The one noticeable difference this time is Dave Greber filled in for Postles Tuesday as Jacquie Walker's co-anchor. Usually, Walker is a solo anchor when Postles is off. I've always wondered why Greber doesn't anchor more since he is a good one.
