Modeling Factory Collective, 9 p.m. Aug. 11 at Nietzsche's (248 Allen St.); $5.
The folks over at this word-of-mouth DIY space are stepping up to present a collection of talented singer-songwriters.
On tap for the evening's performances from area musicians including Joe Murray Myers (Mr. Boneless, Smokin' Black Tar, Oats Holy Roller) and dreambeaches' band-mates Jacob Peter and Andrew Kothen. Tim Corner will round out the bill.
Yellow House Tape Release Show, 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at Sugar City (1239 Niagara St.); $5.
Local indie trio Yellow House will be celebrating the release of its latest tape at the Sugar City.
The four-track cassette "Nuestras Maquiines" is the follow-up to the band's promising debut EP "songs from limbo," which was released last November. The crunchy shoegazey title track is currently available to stream.
On hand to support Yellow House will be Patchwork, a new group which features former members the fuzz-rock trio Zealot, and West Side punks Slow Mutants.
As always, Sugar City is drug and alcohol-free venue.
All Night Kanye Party, 9 p.m. Aug. 12 at Studio @ Waiting Room (334 Delaware Ave.); $10.
While a return to Buffalo may be a while off, Kanye West fans are not completely out of luck. The Waiting Room's upstairs Studio will be hosting a dance party dedicated and inspired by the divisive hip-hop superstar.
Not only will event DJ WeJo2.0 be spinning West's music all night long, but the collaborative party also will include Kanye-centric art, fashion and interactive performances.
Dressing to impress is encouraged. A Tommy Hilfiger pink polo is a good place to start.
