Buffalo firefighters were called to a house fire at 168 Victoria Ave. Tuesday night where the 2.5-story dwelling was engulfed in smoke and flames, according to reports on the department scanner.
The fire was reported around 9:30 p.m.. When firefighters arrived at the scene, occupants of the first floor had already vacated the structure. No one was believed to live on the dwelling's second floor, firefighters reported. Firefighters on the scene described the blaze climbing the walls as they checked each room with an infrared camera, according to scanner reports.
The fire caused $10,000 damage to the building and $2,000 to the contents. It remains under investigation.
