Assault rifle recovered at Peace Bridge; Pa. man arrested

An assault rifle and ammunition clip were confiscated at the Peace Bridge Sunday night by Canadian Border Service Agents agents who had determined the 31-year-old driver from Pennsylvania was wanted on a warrant, said Buffalo police.

Brandon Baribeau of Lewis Run, Pa.,was charged with criminal possession of an assault rifle. The gun was recovered from the trunk of his car, police said.

A loaded large capacity ammunition feeding device was found under the front passenger seat, police said.

Baribeau remained in the Erie County Holding Center Monday night.
