Buffalo airport passenger stopped with loaded pistol

A Batavia man was cited by police on Friday when he was stopped at the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport while going through security with a loaded pistol.

A TSA officer spotted a .38-caliber handgun in Herbert Schroeder's carry-on bag, according to Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Transit Police. The gun was loaded with seven bullets, including one in the chamber, police said.

NFTA Police confiscated the gun and Schroeder, 64, was cited on a local weapons charge.
