Niagara Falls man admits beating his sister's boyfriend

Rondell V. Ralands pleaded guilty in Niagara County Court Thursday to taking part in the Nov. 25 beating of Cyston Brundidge, his sister's live-in boyfriend.

Ralands, 29, of 38th Street, Niagara Falls, faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 28 by Judge Matthew J. Murphy III. Ralands, who admitted to second-degree assault, said he used his cellphone to strike Brundidge in his Fourth Street residence Nov. 25.

The same plea has been offered to co-defendant Jasmine N. Jones, 24, of Garden Avenue. A third defendant, Terrill D. Pettway, 27, of Steele Circle, Town of Niagara, was arraigned Wednesday after being extradited from South Carolina.

Ralands' sister called him after an altercation with Brundidge, who suffered two cuts that took a total of 47 stitches to repair.
