Recent street parking changes on Linwood Avenue have opened more parking after 6 p.m., helping to alleviate a parking crunch for residents after they arrive home from work.
"After 4 p.m., it offers a greater chance that they can find a spot instead of circling the block over and over," said Dr. Steve Niemiec, president of Linwood Preservation District & Friends Association. "During rush hour, having parking on both sides also has created traffic calming."
Previously, street parking was allowed only on one side of the street after 6 p.m. The street now has alternate-side parking from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
The street has become a magnet for Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus workers who have been parking between North and Summer streets.
