Howard Hanna leads Buffalo market in 2016 sales volume

It's not even close.

Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, which acquired Orchard Park-based RealtyUSA and Nothnagle Realtors of Rochester in the past two years, has cemented its dominance of the Buffalo market, according to new figures from industry research company REAL Trends.

REAL Trends' newest "Market Leaders" report shows that Pittsburgh-based Hanna is No. 1 in transaction "sides" – which means representing either a buyer or a seller – with 14,517 sides in 2016. That's nearly more than twice the tally for No. 2 Hunt Real Estate Corp., at 5,883 sides. Keller Williams Realty was No. 3, with 1,711, followed by M.J. Peterson Corp. at 1,573.

Similarly, for volume, Hanna posted more than $1.9 billion in dollar value of deals, more than double the $952 million of Hunt. Keller Williams was again third, at $231 million, followed by M.J. Peterson at $227 million.

Hanna is also the dominant leader in both Rochester and Syracuse, by similar or greater margins.
