The public is invited to help shape the Town of Grand Island's comprehensive plan at a meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, in the Grand Island Senior High school auditorium, 1100 Ransom Road.
The town is updating its 1998 comprehensive plan.
Town Supervisor Nathan McMurray said Grand Island has gone far too long without a new plan.
A comprehensive plan looks at future policies, projects and actions – such as plans for future housing, neighborhoods, recreation, infrastructure and economic development. The plan will be discussed by the Long Range Planning Committee.
Grand Island is currently considering building a community center and it has grants for new parks and sidewalks.
