Charles J. Ernst, 34, of East Aurora, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex with a child, according to the Erie County District Attorney.
Ernst pleaded guilty in June to two counts of criminal sex act in the first degree, a Class B felony, and admitted to oral sexual abuse of a 6-year-old.
The crimes reportedly took place in the Town of Aurora in August 2016. Child Protective Services alerted East Aurora police about the possibility of abuse and Ernst was arrested Aug. 31.
Erie County Judge Michael F. Pietruszka sentenced Ernst to 10 years in prison on each count and also issued a 20-year order of protection for the victim and ordered 20 years post-release supervision for Ernst.
Ernst also will have to register as a sex offender upon his release.
