The final sign-off for WKBW (Channel 7) sports reporter Nick Filipowski was a whirlwind of emotion.
After three years in Buffalo, a teary, choked-up Filipowski professed his love for the city, his daughter's Sabres fan-hood and his future plans over a roughly three-minute clip Monday night.
The passion and length of Filipowski's goodbye was noticed by snarky sports-culture blog Barstool Sports, whose initial tweet of the video received over 750 retweets and 3,000 likes (maybe not entirely for wholesome reasons, but you can't question Filipowski's zeal for the city and his time here).

According to The News' Alan Pergament, it was Filipowski's decision to leave WKBW after his contract ended in July.
As fellow sportscaster Tom Martin tweeted, one mark of Filipowski's tenure in Buffalo was his selection to BuzzFeed's "50 Hottest News Anchors in the World."
