It used to be you couldn't have food in the library, but now the Hamburg Public Library is looking for a vendor to operate its cafe.
The library put out a request for proposals, but didn't receive any.
"We're still looking," library Director Jack Edson said.
He said the cafe operator would open the shop during normal library hours, and be open at least 30 hours a week. More than 100,000 people walk through the library's doors in the average year.
The cafe is in the 6,000 square-foot circular addition that was constructed in 2015, and has a gas range, stainless steel prep tables and other restaurant grade equipment, Edson said. Anyone who is interested in operating the cafe should contact the Hamburg town attorney's office.
"It's a really nice opportunity for somebody," he said.
