The schedule and opponents are set for the Canisius College men’s basketball team’s five-day trip to Canada this month. The Golden Griffins will cross the Peace Bridge and play five Canadian colleges in exhibition games.
The Griffs will face Queens University in Kingston, Ont., on Aug. 19 (4 p.m.). That will be followed on successive days by games against Bishop’s University in Sherbook, Que., (2 p.m.), Concordia in Montreal (7 p.m.), the University of Ottawa (7 p.m.) and Carleton University in Ottawa (7 p.m.).
"When you have such a young team, and so many new faces, the ability to take a foreign tour is crucial in so many different facets as we build toward the start of the season in November," Canisius coach Reggie Witherspoon said. "With the current NCAA rules in place, our staff has had the ability to work with guys in different settings on the court, but taking the foreign tour allows us to get the guys together for full practice sessions, which will help everyone get a better understanding of how we do things and the pace at which we are going to work once October rolls around."
