Neighbor dispute spills into Tonawanda Town Board meeting

Angry residents complained to the Town of Tonawanda Board on Monday about a neighbor who owns two homes described as a "disgusting junkyard" filled with code violations.

A petition was presented to the board, signed by more than 50 residents of Klauder Road and Parker Boulevard.

The owner of the homes, Thomas Heiser of 771 Parker Blvd., told the board his neighbors complaints have become personal. A house he owns at 43 Klauder Road also was called an eyesore by his neighbors.

Gerry Peehler, who lives next to Heiser on Parker Boulevard said he can't sell his house because of the mess. He said he has complained for 13 years. He denied it was personal, but called Heiser a "garbage picker and hoarder."

Councilman John A. Bargnesi Jr. said notice has been served by the health department.

"You cannot not do something," Bargnesi told Heiser. "Your neighbors have reached the breaking point."
