Comedy on Tap: Gborie and Brennan at Helium, Kaye at Rob's

A trio of touring headlining comedians travel through Buffalo during the first weekend of August. Here are your best bets for laughs:

San Francisco native David Gborie comes to Buffalo for an 8 p.m. show Aug. 3 at Helium Comedy Club. Gborie has been featured on “Conan” on TBS, “Those Who Can’t” on truTV and “Flophouse” on Viceland. He’s also appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and San Francisco Sketchfest. Tickets are $15 and $23, with dinner packages available. Information:

Kevin Brennan will finish out the weekend at Helium with shows on Aug. 4 and 5. He is a comedian and writer whose credits include “Saturday Night Live,” “Late Show with David Letterman” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” Brennan currently hosts the show “Burning Bridges” on Compound Media, and the “Misery Loves Company” podcast. Brennan will perform at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5. Tickets range from $22 to $30, with dinner packages also available. Information:

Finally, David Kaye returns to Rob’s Comedy Playhouse, 1340 North Forest in Williamsville, for a show at 8 p.m. Aug. 5. The comedian grew up as the son of a Polish steel mill worker and Howard Johnson waitress in blue-collar Pittsburgh, and now uses that upbringing for comedic observations and manic voices. Kaye has appeared on Comedy Central and NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” General admission tickets are $10. Information:
