A 13-year-old boy assaulted two men with a pair of scissors at a mosque on Tuesday around 10:30 p.m., according to Buffalo police.
The boy broke into the mosque on the 100 block of Sobieski Street during a prayer service, police said. Hearing a noise in the back office, two men went to check it out. They saw the boy with money from the collection jars in his hands and he was trying to break down a door to escape. The boy stabbed a 72-year-old man's right ear and the back of his neck, police said. He also struck a 48-year-old man's lip and the top of his head, police said.
Both men were taken to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment, officials reported.
A police officer retrieved the scissors and submitted them into evidence, police said.
