The Buffalo Bisons will host the Louisville Bats at Coca-Cola Field Saturday night. It's Strike out Cancer Night at the ballpark and here's what you need to know:
Game time: 7:05 p.m. (Gates at 6 p.m.)
Promotion: Strike Out Cancer. Proceeds from the night will benefit the Breast Cancer Network of WNY and the American Cancer Society. Fans are encouraged to wear lavender. Those who do will get a free raffle ticket for items including gift cards, a signed Rasmus Ristolainen stick, a signed Marcell Dareus helmet, and a Jim Kelly signed photo and book. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the game as well.
Weather: A nice evening for baseball, according to weather.com. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 77.
Probables: Righty Nick Tepesch for the Bisons and lefty Cody Reed for Louisville.
Last game: The Bats took the first game of the series, holding off a late Buffalo rally for a 6-5 win.
Welcome home: Louisville outfielder Jesse Winker grew up in Florida, but was born in Niagara Falls, ranks second in the IL in batting (.308). He has had three call-ups to the Cincinnati Reds this season.
Homestand: After Saturday's game the teams conclude their series at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. The team is off on Monday then opens a three-game series in Moosic, Pa. against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. The Bisons return home Aug. 4-6.
