The Westin Buffalo, the luxury hotel operated by Delaware North, has equipped all 116 of its rooms with Amazon Echo devices.
The voice-activated devices use Volara software, which is integrated into existing hotel software and specifically designed to serve hospitality customers. The software allows guests to ask the device questions that would normally be answered by hotel staff, such as the concierge, valet or housekeeper. Hotel guests can also use the devices to request services, get recommendations or communicate with hotel staff.
The hotel is located in the Delaware North Cos. headquarters at 250 Delaware Ave.
The Westin is the same company that recently introduced "Chip," a robot butler developed by Relay which delivers room services and other amenities to rooms. It was also recently awarded AAA's four-diamond rating, the second highest designation offered by the travel organization.
