Third person dies following collision of car, pickup at Hartland intersection

A third person has died following a crash Sunday night in Hartland.

Mary Ruth Haberman, 77, of Eggertsville, died Monday in Erie County Medical Center. She had been in critical condition following the crash, which happened at Quaker and Ridge roads, according to authorities.

Haberman was in the front passenger seat of a 2014 Toyota Camry that was struck while traveling south on Quaker Road across the intersection by a 2004 Dodge Ram traveling westbound on Ridge.

The driver of the car, Margaret A. Hammerl, 82, and Andrew J. Hammerl, 84, who was in the back seat, both died at the scene, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said. They were residents of Stamford, Conn.

The driver of the pickup, Tony E. Wagner, 29, of Gasport, was treated at the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Accident Investigation Unit of the Sheriff's Office.
