Who am I to tell you and your friends what to do with $100 on Aug. 26?
That's how much it'll cost to watch master boxer Floyd Mayweather fight mixed-martial artist Conor McGregor, boxing professionally for the first time.
Of course, you can save $10 if you don't want to watch it in high-definition, and maybe that would be wise.
Not being able to recognize the nuance of McGregor's inexperience versus Mayweather's ring generalship might make this bout less lopsided.
Some fight experts argued McGregor shouldn't be given a boxing license. A first-timer against an all-timer? Mayweather has beaten four or five future Hall of Famers. Made them look silly, in fact.
I understand McGregor is fantastic at MMA, which includes grappling. This fight won't. And a segment of society is getting off on their promotional tour -- essentially a rank-out battle littered with gay and racist slurs -- to the point some think McGregor just might shock the world and defeat the convicted wife-beater.
A couple of charmers, squaring off in an over-hyped mismatch. In low-def. For just $90.
You can tell me all about it.
