Grit TV reappears as do classic TV shows

If you are one of the viewers who were disappointed that Grit TV disappeared from one of WUTV's digital channels, 29.3, be advised that you can now catch the channel on one of WKBW-TV's digital channels, 7.4.

You may have to reprogram your digital tuner to get it.

A reader noted that there has been a problem with closed captioning. Channel 7 General Manager Michael Nurse said the station's engineer said some Grit programs are not being captioned.

Sports Report: Not surprisingly, the "Home Run Derby" won by New York Yankee star Aaron Judge had a higher local rating two weeks ago than the Major League All-Star game and the ESPY awards.

"Home Run Derby" had a 5.1 on ESPN on Monday, July 10, the All-Star game on  Fox affiliate WUTV a 3.1 rating on Tuesday, July 11 and the ESPYs had a 3.8 rating on WKBW-TV (Channel 7), the local ABC affiliate. The All-Star rating was low, but it actually was about 40 percent higher than the 2.2 rating for the 2016 game.

Attention Antenna TV viewers: Antenna TV,  which is on WGRZ-TV's digital channel, 2.2, recently announced nine classic series will join the network’s lineup in the final quarter of 2017. They include "Welcome Back Kotter," "Alice," "Benson," "Soap," "Growing Pains," "Silver Spoons," "Head of the Class," "Murphy Brown" and "The Hogan Family."
