COMING CLEAN – “Germs Are Gross” is the theme for this week’s edition of EPIC Storytime at Canalside in downtown Buffalo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Special guest will be local magician Paul Antonio, who will entertain youngsters and show them how to avoid spreading germs. It’s free and open to children, up to age 8, and their families.

TOP BRASS – The award-winning 90-member American Legion Band of the Tonawandas, led by Michael Shaw, director of music at Frontier High School, will give its next-to-last summer concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Bassett Park on Klein Road in Amherst.
Admission is free. In case of rain, the concert will move to the nearby Clearfield Community Center, 730 Hopkins Road, Amherst.

COME HUNGRY – Dozens of restaurants will offer samples from their menus at the 13th annual Taste of Orchard Park from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on North Buffalo Street. There also will be a Food Truck Alley on Princeton Place. Sponsored by the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce, it’s part of the annual Quaker Days celebration, which continues through next Sunday. TOWERING BELLS – Carilloneur Janet Tebbel from the First United Methodist Church in Germantown, Pa., will be featured in this week’s carillon concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Episcopal Church, 20 Milton St. at South Cayuga Road, Williamsville.
Also on the program is the group Penny Whiskey, with Irish and Scottish folk music. Refreshments will be available for purchase at 6:15 p.m. Admission is free. Lawn chairs are welcome.

HAPPY DAYS – Bringing back memories of the 1950s and 1960s will be the Timon Dance Reunion from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday in the gym at Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School gym, 601 McKinley Parkway. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $6 at the door.

REUNION ALERT – A reunion for students from elementary schools in Buffalo’s Old First Ward – St. Brigid’s, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Valentine’s, School 4 and School 34 – will be held Sept. 9.
