The annual community building campaign between local police and their neighborhoods – National Night Out – will be celebrated from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 1, in Lincoln Park Arena, 1200 Parker Blvd. in the Town of Tonawanda.
The Night Out event is hosted by the Town of Tonawanda Youth Parks and Recreation in cooperation with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department.
National Night Out events are designed to bring police and neighbors together in a positive celebration of community.
Parents are encouraged to bring their kids out to this free, family-friendly event to meet police officers, paramedics and firefighters. There also will be demonstrations of emergency vehicles, helicopter landings by the Erie County Sheriff's Department and a tank.
In addition, those attending will be entertained with live music by Black Rock Band, food, games, demonstrations and information booths, and a visit from the department's K-9 officer.
