Grand Island group holding golf outing to benefit students

The Grand Island School Business Alliance (GISBA) will hold a golf outing to raise money for scholarships, field trips and internships for Grand Island High School students.

The GISBA tournament will be held on Aug. 21 at River Oaks Golf Club. Last year the golf outing raised $20,000 to support programs at the school. Registration forms are on the district website at grandislandschools.org. The tournament begins at at 11 a.m. and includes lunch and dinner. The price per golfer is $120. Sponsorships are $200.

GISBA also organizes days for students to shadow workers in local businesses, resume workshops and job fairs.

GISBA also assisted Grand Island student Yusef Mojawalla in his successful campaign for DECA state office, as well as travel costs for other DECA students to participate in business-related field trips and events.
