Rochester man identified as suspect in Batavia robbery

Steve Vega, 25, of Rochester, was identified as a suspect in the robbery of a Bank of America in Batavia, according to Batavia police.

During the robbery, the thief did not display or threaten to draw a gun. No one was injured. The robber fled the scenes on foot shortly before 4 p.m, police said.

Vega is in custody of the Rochester Police Department for a separate incident. His arrest is pending and he will be arraigned in Batavia City Court, police stated.

Authorities described Vega as a parole absconder, a person who fails to report to their parole officer and does not inform their officer of their whereabouts.
