The Buffalo Beauts added to their roster for the 2017-18 season signing forward Jessica Sibley (Syracuse), defenders Kelly Seward (Penn State) and Colleen Murphy (Northeastern), and goaltender Julia DiTondo (Mercyhurst).
Sibley scored 35 goals with 57 assists in 140 career games for Syracuse serving as one of the team's captains last year. Before playing for the Orange, Sibley, a native of Luseland, Saskatchewan, competed for Team Saskatchewan at the U-18 Canadian National Championship.
“Luseland is a very small, rural Saskatchewan town of fewer than 600 people,” Sibley said in an NWHL press release. “I hope to act as an inspiration to younger girls who are from small towns or rural areas and show them that they are capable of succeeding in sport.”
Seward is a Williamsville native and Nichols graduate who played four seasons at Penn State, including notching 14 points (one goal, 13 assists) in 35 games her senior season.
Murphy played four seasons at Northeastern, notching 12 goals and 38 assists in 138 games.
DiTondo, a Kenmore native, had a 5-2-0 record with a 1.33 goals against average and .937 save percentage at Mercyhurst.
