Americans take 12th in synchronized swimming team free final

The U.S. synchronized swim team finished 12th in the team free final at the FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary on Friday.

The U.S. scored 83.5667 points to finish last in the 12-team field. Russia won gold with 97.3000 points, China took silver at 95.2333 and Ukraine earned bronze at 93.9333.

Kenmore native Anita Alvarez and Williamsville native Rachel Jager were part of the eight-woman team.
