Seniors citizens who use Hamburg's therapeutic pool want to show Town Board members that the pool is popular, but too small for the aqua strength and aerobics classes held there.
"We have all kinds of people who want to use this place," Teresa Ferraro said. "We're kicking each other and almost playing bumper cars."
Ferraro and others will bring charts to Monday's Town Board meeting to show how many people can comfortably fit in the 400-square-foot pool for a class. The board plans to discuss a consultant's report that says the pool on Sowles Road is in excellent shape, but needs some minor maintenance.
The report says expanding the pool and locker rooms would not be feasible. Ferraro maintains the pool is not in good shape, there is mold and the showers drip.
The Town Board voted to borrow $1.8 million to build a new pool at the recreation center, but last year pulled the financing for it.
