Letter: Rice is not distinguished enough to speak the truth

Rice is not distinguished enough to speak the truth

Susan Rice is a liar and a professional incompetent. This is the woman who went on every Sunday news program on September 16, 2012, and lied to America. She told us:

“But our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous – not a premeditated – response to what had transpired in Cairo. In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated (on YouTube).”

We know it was a lie and not ignorance because we know then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had emailed her family, the Egyptian Prime Minister and the Saudi government to inform them:

“Two of our officers were killed in Benghazi by an al Qaeda-like group: The Ambassador, whom I handpicked and a young communications officer on temporary duty w a wife and two young children.” (To Chelsea) And, “we know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a protest.” (To the Egyptian prime minister).

Was there ever a reprimand from Obama to his subordinates for lying to America? Of course not. Where are their ethics? In fact, why is Susan Rice considered distinguished at all? Is it for having the unmitigated gall to not just lie to us on one news program, but to go on several and tell her lie over and over again? I admit, that level of deceit must have taken thousands of hours of practice to master, and that – I guess – does distinguish her, but is this liar really who we should be giving laurel leaves to?

Oh wait, I forgot, she’s a woman and a minority, therefore exempt from professional competence or ethics. And, she will fit in nicely at the University at Buffalo, which is little better than a publicly funded think tank for the American far left.
