Dash's market, Elmwood Village condos get Zoning Board approval

Plans for a new Dash’s market in North Buffalo and condominiums in Elmwood Village got another green light this week, moving them one step closer to fruition.

Joe Dash, owner of Dash Markets Inc., wants to construct a 47,550-square-foot store at 1764 Hertel Ave. on the northeast corner of the intersection with Starin Avenue. On Wednesday, the city Zoning Board of Appeals approved all nine variances needed to make the $12 million project work.

The Zoning Board also approved the eight variances needed for Chason Affinity Co.’s $30 million plan to build 41 condominiums and brownstones in Elmwood Village. The units will come with 100 underground parking spots, said Delaware Council Member Joel P. Feroleto.

Both projects still need various approvals and permits from other bodies, ranging from the Planning Board to the Common Council.
