Brandon White, 32, of Gowanda, who was charged with first-degree manslaughter in the shooting of a Gowanda man on July 12, now faces an additional misdemeanor assault charge for a domestic violence issue that occurred before the shooting, according to the Erie County Sheriff's office.
White is accused of causing severe injuries to his girlfriend's head and face. The 49-year-old woman was taken to ECMC for treatment.
The shooting of Anthony Chipman, 46, of Gowanda, occurred on the same day in White's trailer home at 14725 Bagdad Road in Collins. Chipman was found unresponsive on the floor of the property and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. White, who was arrested at the scene, remains in the Erie County Holding Center without bail.
