July 20 – Southtowns Walleye Association membership meeting, 5895 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg,  7:30 p.m.

July 20 – Kayaking with Tina at Beaver Island State Park, a beginners class that runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Call 282-5154 to preregister.

July 20 – Erie County Chapter of SCOPE will be holding its July meeting at the Harvey D. Morin Post, 965 Center Road, West Seneca,  7 p.m.

July 21-22 – Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Association’s Curt Meddaugh Memorial Fishing Contest on Friday out of Olcott. Free to members. Pays top three places for biggest salmon. Saturday is the LOTSA Club Tournament out of Olcott. $60 entry fee. In addition to the regular club tournament, there is also a LOTSA 323 contest for $50. July 22 – Second leg of the King of the Oak Derby. $100 cash entry fee. Best three fish. Weigh-in at Lake Breeze Marina by 3 p.m. Sign up at Captain’s Cove, Narby’s or Lake Breeze Marina by 7 a.m.

July 22 –  Sunset Bay Shootout. One tournament with an option Big Fish Friday. Teams of 2 to 5 anglers. $500 entry fee. 100 percent cash pay back. Tournament is 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with 5 p.m. weigh in at Cabana Sam’s. For more info go to or call Don Ruppert at 498-7770.

July 24 – Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs will hold its annual summer picnic meeting starting at 5 p.m. Bring a dish to pass.  Location is Wolcottsville Sportsmen’s Club, Ditch Road, Wolcottsville. DEC Region 9 personnel will be attending to give updates.

July 27 – Erie County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs will hold its monthly meeting at Niagara River Station, 355 E. River Road, Grand Island starting at 7 p.m.

July 27 – Kayaking with Tina at Beaver Island State Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Space is limited; sign up early. Call 282-5154 for information and registration. This is a beginner’s class.

July 29 – Memorial Trap Shoot and Chicken BBQ at Wood and Brook Sportsman’s Club, 13712 Genesee St., Crittenden. Shooting starts at 9 a.m. This will be a 100 bird shoot. July 29-30 – Cabela’s Bowhunter Classic Weekend starting at 10 a.m. with game cameras. Also tree stand set-up and safety; gear for beginners and more. Located at 2003 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga.

July 30 – Final day and awards ceremony for the Lake Ontario Counties Trout and Salmon Derby.
