Buffalo audiences are likely to get the best of comedian George Lopez when he performs two sold-out shows at Helium Comedy Club July 20.
Lopez will work out new material for a future HBO special at Helium. The best time to catch a comedian is just before he or she records a new special, as the jokes the comic has written and honed are nearly complete.
As of late, Lopez has been touring with a number of other comedians like D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer as part of the Comedy Get Down, which stopped in Buffalo last year. He also stars in and produces the TV Land series “Lopez.”
The former late-night host of “Lopez Tonight” has had a long career as a stand-up comedian, television producer and movie actor. He was the star and creator of the ABC sitcom “George Lopez,” which ran for six seasons from 2002 to 2007 and currently airs as reruns on Nick at Nite. His late night talk show “Lopez Tonight” aired for two seasons on TBS.
George Lopez: 7:15 and 9:30 p.m. July 20 at Helium Comedy Club (30 Mississippi St.) Both shows are sold out. Visit buffalo.heliumcomedy.com for more information.
