Six people were taken to hospitals Sunday following a crash in Freedom, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office.
Richard J. Neamon Jr., 18, of Freedom, was driving on Rte. 98 when his 2007 Chevy Avalanche went off the road and collided with a 2005 Dodge Caravan which was parked on the side of the street, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Neamon's car also struck three pedestrians, according to the Sheriff's Office. The crash occurred at around 4:20 p.m, according to authorities.
Two children, 3 and 4, were inside the parked car and both sustained serious injuries, the Sheriff's Office said. The three pedestrians, 2, 39, and 42, also sustained serious injuries, authorities said.
The three children involved in the incident were taken to Women and Children's Hospital where they were treated, according to the Sheriff's Office. The two adult pedestrians were taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.
Neamon was taken to Mercy Hospital where he was released with minor injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.
