Three health agencies will host a daylong Adult Mental Health First Aid training July 21.
The class can help families, employers, health professionals and others about how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
The training provides skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, or experiencing a crisis.
The session will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the United Way office on Delaware Avenue.
The cost is $100 and includes a comprehensive manual as well as lunch. Buy tickets online here.
Compeer Buffalo, the Mental Health Association and Jewish Family Service organized the class.
