Frontier Central Board to discuss interim superintendent

Frontier Central School Board members will talk about finding an interim superintendent during a special meeting Tuesday.

"The interim is more important right now than the search, because we need to know somebody is steering the ship come Sept. 1," Board President Janet MacGregor Plarr said.

Frontier Superintendent Bret Apthorpe is leaving to head Jamestown Public Schools.

The board will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday with Erie 1 BOCES Superintendent Lynn M. Fusco to discuss options. The board plans to go into executive session for the discussion.

"We may go with an interim right away. We're going to see who's out there," Plarr said.

Board members also plan to discuss what Erie 1 BOCES can offer in searching for a permanent superintendent, she said.
